This will be my last Rotary minute as your District Governor. Serving as your District Governor during the 2015-1016 Rotary year has been a once in a lifetime opportunity. What an honor to serve the Rotarians of District 6970, the greatest district in the Rotary world!

Just a few of the many accomplishments you achieved this year include raising
$230,000 to eradicate Polio, giving over $455,000 to the Rotary Foundation and growing membership within our district. Once again, you have showed why District 6970 consistently ranks as one of the top districts in the Rotary world!

As District Governor Elect (DGE) Marshall takes the leadership reins on July 1st, I ask you give him and his leadership team your full support. DGE Marshall is prepared to lead our district to the greatest height ever achieved!

I will not be too far away as I plan to serve on DGE Marshall’s leadership team and continue my service to our great district. Signing off until will meet again at the next Rotary event!
Week 52 - Rotary Minute for week beginning June 27, 2016 Fel Lee - District Governor 2015-2016 2016-06-29 00:00:00Z 0
Week 41. Rotary Minute for week beginning April 13, 2015.

The Weekly Minute – turns out it’s more than a minute! Last week I attended the first anniversary meeting of our newest club in the District, the Rotary Club of Interlachen and Lakes Area. It was a good meeting and a celebration to a good start for this emerging club – almost 25 members strong. The Interlachen and Lakes Area club is one of many clubs with a Minutarian who routinely reads the Weekly Minute to club members during the meeting. So I got to listen to one of my Weekly Minutes. As most or you already know, it took that Minutarian bit longer than a minute to read it in full. So calling it the Weekly Minute is a tad misleading. Oh well, I just want all Rotarians in District 6970 to know what’s happening and why everyone should be proud to be part of one the best Rotary Districts in the world. And if that takes more than a minute – so be it – you’re worth it.

Event Reminders:

May 8-10: District Conference and Assembly at the Flagler College campus. Mark your calendar for a weekend of interesting, informative and inspirational sessions, and a lot of fun Rotary fellowship.

June 18-21: Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) will take place again this year on the University of North Florida’s campus. Each club should sponsor at least one, and preferably two, aspiring high school leaders to attend this life changing event.

June 26-28: Zone 34 Regional Seminar at the Hyatt Hotel in Jacksonville, Florida. All District and Club leaders, as well as any Rotarian interested in learning more about Rotary, are encouraged to attend. Look for more details soon on our District website.
